Bio

Chrissy Metz started her professional path with working at McDonald’s, like many other young people. However, in 2005, she began to conquer Hollywood with gaining a small part in Entourage television show.

The real fame came to Metz in 2016 thanks to portraying Kate Pearson in This Is Us series. That part brought her 2 SAG Awards plus nominations for Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy. Moreover, prior to starring in the series, Chrissy was in awful financial situation, which improved after she gained that part. She also had parts in My Name is Earl, American Horror Story and The Last O.G. The actress has some movie credits as well, among which are Loveless in Los Angeles, The Onion Movie, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser plus Breakthrough.

Moreover, Chrissy Metz deals with singing. She is a part of Chrissy and The Vapors band. The band attracted attention thanks to their music video Ladies Love Cool J.

Chrissy has been dealing with losing weight since childhood. In her 2018 memoir This Is Me, she told that her stepfather was physically and emotionally abusive to her because of her weight and even joked that he would put a lock on the refrigerator.

On January 5, 2008, Metz tied knots with British screenwriter Martyn Eaden, whom she got acquainted with at a dating site. However, they called it quits in 2014 and got officially divorced in 2015. She later was romantically linked to This Is Us cameraman Josh Stancil, but they broke up in 2018. As to the kids, Chrissy states that she isn’t still ready to become a mom.

A curious fact: Chrissy spent the major part of her childhood in Japan because of her father’s military career. Later, the family relocated to Florida.
