Colin Lewes Hanks is the firstborn of Tom Hanks and his first spouse Samantha Lewes. When he drew his first breath, his parents were unmarried and he was given his mom’s last name Dillingham. It was changed to Hanks after Tom and Samantha’s nuptials.
Colin followed in his parents’ footsteps and got engaged in acting. He gained his first role in Tom’s film That Thing You Do! in 1996 and in 1999, he already had the lead part in Roswell television series. However, the performer is most famed for playing in The Good Guys, Dexter, Fargo and Life in Pieces series.
Among Colin Hanks’ most successful movie credits are Orange County, 11:14, The Great Buck Howard, Untraceable, My Mom’s New Boyfriend, The House Bunny, Lucky plus Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and its sequel. In 2009, he made a Broadway debut in 33 Variations.
Moreover, Hanks directed documentaries All Things Must Pass: The Rise and Fall of Tower Records and Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis. Being an entrepreneur, he runs Hanks Kerchiefs online shop and donates some money from the sales to charity. In one of his interviews, Colin revealed that he used to play bass in the band Pontius Pilot until he seriously injured his thumb.
On May 8, 2010, Colin tied knots with publicist Samantha Bryant. Their daughter Olivia drew her first breath in 2011. And in 2013, the couple was blessed by another baby girl named Charlotte.
A curious fact: in 2003, Colin got to the list of the 25 Hottest Bachelors by People Magazine.
