David Rooklin is a computational biologist and entrepreneur. He is also famed for being the husband of comedian Ilana Glazer.
David gained a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Oberlin College and proceeded with getting a Doctor of Philosophy degree in computational biology at New York University. He worked for the latter for 11 years, holding posts from a teaching assistant to a research associate. Moreover, he previously served as a research technician at University of Colorado and a research intern at Merck’s cardiovascular disease department.
In 2016, David Rooklin collaborated with a couple of other chemistry students to win the technology category of NYU’s Entrepreneur’s Challenge. That helped him to launch Redesign Science company in 2017, which deals with simulating protein targets at the atomic level to reveal hidden, subtle drug opportunities.
David and Ilana got acquainted in Washington Square Park in 2012 and it was love at first sight. The lovebirds secretly tied knots on February 25, 2017, and set out for an adventurous trip to Iceland for their honeymoon.
Despite being from absolutely different worlds, Rooklin and Glazer seem to have 100% mutual understanding and deep love. They support each other’s initiatives and often share mutual photos on their social media.
A curious fact: David can speak Spanish. Also, he is fond of art and photography.
