Dustin Johnson is a respected name in the world of golf. He hails from Columbia, South Carolina, where he was raised by father Scott and mother Kandee alongside sister Laurie and brother Austin. After his parents’ divorce in the late 1990s, Dustin left with his dad. Though Scott was a golfer, Dustin mastered his skills by watching other players.
In 2003-2007, Johnson played for Coastal Carolina University, winning the Monroe Invitational and Northeast Amateur in 2007. By the end of the year, he turned professional and joined the PGA Tour in 2008. The athlete gained his first victory at the Turning Stone Resort Championship. Since then, he has won 21 events, including BMW Championship, The Barclays, US Open, along with being a six-time World Golf Champion.
Being considered one of the best golf players in the world, Dustin won PGA Tour events in each season. In 2016, he was called PGA’s Player of the Year and Tour Player of the Year. And in 2017, he reached the world’s number one ranking.
Additionally, the athlete runs Dustin Johnson Golf School at TPC Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and his own foundation that supports youth initiatives, animals and the military.
Since 2013, Dustin has been engaged to model and socialite Paulina Gretzky, but his busy schedule prevents them from tying knots officially. In 2015, the couple welcomed their firstborn, son Tatum. In 2017, their younger son River became the newest addition to the family.
A curious fact: Johnson’s younger brother Austin is his caddie. By the way, Austin used to play basketball for Charleston Southern University.
