Geena Davis shines brightly no matter if she demonstrates her acting skills on TV or big screen. Among the accolades she earned are Oscar and Golden Globe. Hailing from Wareham, Massachusetts, she and her brother Danforth were raised by teacher’s aide mom Lucille and engineer dad William.

Initially, Davis dealt with modeling. She obtained her first movie role in Tootsie in 1982 and reached fame in 6 years thanks to playing in Beetlejuice. Today, the performer is most noted for her parts in The Fly, The Accidental Tourist, Thelma & Louise, A League of Their Own, Cutthroat Island, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Stuart Little, Accidents Happen plus Marjorie Prime.

Geena’s television debut happened in 1983 on the Knight Rider show. Afterwards, she embarked on roles in Buffalo Bill, Sara, The Geena Davis Show, Commander in Chief, Grey’s Anatomy and The Exorcist series.

Apart from her entertainment industry career, the celebrity fights against sexism and is a founder of Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. She served as an executive producer of the documentary on that topic titled This Changes Everything.

On March 25, 1981, Geena tied the knot with restaurateur Richard Emmolo, but their short-lived marriage ended in 1984. On November 1, 1987, she became a spouse of her Transylvania 6-5000 co-star Jeff Goldblum. They got divorced in 1991. On September 18, 1993, the celebrity got hitched to director Renny Harlin. That marriage also failed and ended in 1998 as the man fathered a baby with Geena’s assistant a year earlier.

On September 1, 2001, craniofacial surgeon Reza Jarrahy became the movie star’s fourth husband. Their daughter Alizeh drew her first breath in 2002. And in 2004, the spouses were blessed with twin boys named Kaiis and Kian. Nevertheless, the man filed for divorce in 2018 while Davis provided documents confirming that they weren’t married officially.

A curious fact: Geena turned down roles in The Grifters and Basic Instinct.
