Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant was a daughter of Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa. She was often called Gigi by her close people.
Gianna inherited passion for basketball from her legendary dad and played for Harbor Day School in Newport as well as Mamba Sports Academy. Her team was coached by Kobe.
Considering her dad as a role model, Gianna spent much time with him. Along with training together, they regularly visited basketball games and watched them on TV. Bryant even called his daughter as a female version of him. And when Kobe’s fans told that he needed to have a boy to carry on his tradition, Gianna answered that she would take care of it.
A curious fact: Gianna dreamed to play for the University of Connecticut Huskies women’s basketball team, but unfortunately she didn’t manage to make that dream come true. Being only 13 years old, she was killed in a horrific helicopter crash as well as her father.
