Heather Locklear got engaged into modeling and acting while studying at the University of California. In 1980, she got her first small TV part in CHiPs.
In the 1980s, Heather played Sammy Jo Dean in the Dynasty television series. However, she reached the peak of her popularity in the 1990s thanks to portraying Amanda Woodward in Melrose Place, the part that brought her 4 Golden Globe nominations. A curious fact: in high school, Heather wanted to join a cheerleading team but was rejected. That led her to a drama class.
