Jeff Goldblum reached worldwide recognition thanks to his acting talent. Hailing from West Homestead, Pennsylvania, he was raised by radio broadcaster mother Shirley and doctor father Harold alongside siblings Pamela, Lee and Rick. Unfortunately, the latter passed away at 23 after contracting dysentery in Morocco.
Goldblum first appeared on the big screen in 1975 film Death Wish and became an international star after landing the lead role in 1986 movie The Fly. Among his other successful credits are Deep Cover, Jurassic Park, Hideaway, Powder, Independence Day, Perfume, Cats & Dogs, Le Week-End, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Hotel Artemis and The Mountain.
Jeff Goldblum’s television debut happened in 1975 in an episode of the Columbo series. Afterwards, he embarked on roles in Tenspeed and Brown Shoe, Raines, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Portlandia as well as appeared in Friends, Will & Grace and Glee. In 2019, the celebrity launched his own show titled The World According to Jeff Goldblum.
Additionally, Jeff deals with stage acting. For instance, he played in Broadway’s musical Two Gentlemen of Verona. He also directed the short film Little Surprises that brought him an Oscar nomination. Goldblum’s one more passion is music. Being a skilled jazz pianist, he performs with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. They released two albums together.
On July 4, 1980, Jeff espoused his Silverado co-star Patricia Gaul, but they called it quits in 1985. On November 1, 1987, he tied knots with another colleague, Geena Davis. However, their marriage was short-lived and was dissolved in 1991. On November 8, 2014, the star got hitched to gymnast Emilie Livingston. They welcomed their firstborn, son Charlie, in 2015. And in 2017, the family was expanded by another baby boy named River.
A curious fact: before making a breakthrough in the entertainment industry, Jeff sold pencils to correctional facilities.
