Joely Richardson gained worldwide recognition thanks to her astonishing acting skills. Hailing from a family of entertainers (her parents are Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richardson), her career choice was rather predictable as well as the one of her elder sister Natasha.
Being only three, Joely made a big screen debut in her dad’s film The Charge of the Light Brigade. In youth, she considered becoming a professional tennis player, but the genes turned out to be stronger and Richardson continued the family tradition. A curious fact: both Joely and her mom portrayed a queen who was beheaded. Richardson had a part of Marie Antoinette in The Affair of the Necklace while Vanessa starred in Mary, Queen of Scots.
