Kris Humphries is a former basketball player. He is also famed for being an ex-spouse of media star Kim Kardashian.
After winning Minnesota Mr. Basketball title in 2003, Humphries started his professional career in 2004 after joining the Utah Jazz. He later represented various teams comprising Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards plus Atlanta Hawks. Moreover, he represented the USA internationally and became a bronze medalist at 2002 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship.
Kris Humphries retired from professional sport in 2019. Today, he is a real estate agent along with being an owner of Five Guys fast food restaurants.
Kris got romantically involved with Kim Kardashian in 2010 and popped the question in May 2011. They tied knots on August 20, 2011, at a lavish ceremony in Beverly Hills. Their wedding was broadcasted on TV. However, less than 3 months after the nuptials, they broke up. The process of divorcing was pretty long and ended only in the summer of 2013.
Kim revealed that she understood that their marriage wouldn’t work out already during their honeymoon. After their divorce, Humphries had to pass through hard times as he faced much criticism and even didn’t want to leave his home in order not to face the crowd full of hatred towards him. Moreover, many people thought that the couple’s marriage was just a PR exercise to grab more money and attention. Though both Kim and Kris deny that and state that their relationship was 100% real.
A curious fact: in 2019, Humphries wrote an essay I Never Wanted to Be That Guy for The Players’ Tribune telling about his relationship and divorce with the media diva.
