Liam Neeson is a renowned actor who earned nominations for dozens of prestigious awards, comprising Oscar, Tony, BAFTA and Golden Globe.
Hailing from Ballymena, Northern Ireland, Liam was raised by caretaker Bernard Neeson and his spouse, cook Katherine. He is the only boy of the couple’s four children and his siblings’ names are Elizabeth, Bernadette and Rosaleen. Since childhood, Neeson dealt with boxing but quitted it at 17. Though he took part in school productions in his teenage years, he tried various odd jobs, including working at a brewery and driving a truck, before he got involved into acting professionally.
Liam Neeson commenced his career in 1976 by acting on stage. In 1978, he made a film debut in Pilgrim’s Progress and made a breakthrough in 1993 thanks to starring in Schindler’s List. The performer’s other successful movie credits include Love Actually, Kinsey, Batman Begins, Taken, Clash of the Titans, Unknown plus The Commuter. He is also famed for lending his voice to Aslan in The Chronicles of Narnia. Additionally, Neeson regularly appears on TV. For instance, he made cameos in Miami Vice, The Big C and Rev. series.
On July 3, 1994, Liam tied knots with performer Natasha Richardson. They got acquainted a year earlier during Neeson’s debut on Broadway in Anna Christie. In 1995, the spouses welcomed son Micheal. And in 1996, their younger son Daniel drew his first breath. Unfortunately, Neeson became a widower after Natasha passed away in 2009 following a severe head trauma.
A curious fact: Liam was a candidate for the part of James Bond in GoldenEye, but Pierce Brosnan was chosen instead.
