LiAngelo Robert Ball is one of the famed Ball brothers and a middle son of LaVar Ball. Being born in a basketball family, he followed the tradition and got engaged into this kind of sports at the age of 4.
Initially, LiAngelo played for Chino Hills High School and in 2018, he joined Prienai, a Lithuanian basketball club, after a failed attempt to represent UCLA. But later that year, Ball became a player of Los Angeles Ballers, a team competing in the Junior Basketball Association created by LaVar. He left the team in 2019 because of an injury and long rehabilitation. In December 2019, the athlete signed a contract with Oklahoma City Blue.
Moreover, LiAngelo Ball starred in Ball in the Family reality series. In 2017, his dad created the Gelo 3 shoes brand for him. As to his personal life, Ball is romantically linked to Jaden Owens, who plays for UCLA’s women’s basketball team.
A curious fact: in 2017, LiAngelo was detained in China for shoplifting with two teammates. He reportedly stole Louis Vuitton sunglasses at a mall. Subsequently, LiAngelo was fined and released from custody though he had a chance to be imprisoned for a period from 3 to 10 years. Furthermore, the situation led to a dispute between President Donald Trump and LaVar. The first stated that it was he who saved the boys from prison while some sources told that the athletes were released before Trump’s visit to Asia. LaVar refused to thank Trump, but later LiAngelo publicly did that. However, it didn’t save the young man from losing a place in the UCLA Bruins.
