Linda Thompson’s path to Hollywood fame started with victories at several beauty pageants, including 1972 Miss Tennessee Universe. In 1977, she was cast for Hee Haw TV series and proceeded with having small parts in CHiPs, Fantasy Island and Beverly Hills, 90210 series plus The Bodyguard, Rabbit Test and Original Intent films.
Moreover, Linda deals with writing poems and lyrics for songs. She contributed to the creation of Celine Dion’s Miracle, Backstreet Boys’ Drowning and Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing. The latter was a soundtrack to The Bodyguard and earned nominations for Grammy and Oscar. In 2016, Linda Thompson wrote her autobiography.
In 1972-1976, Linda was romantically linked to Elvis Presley. Despite their separation, they were in friendly relationship till the death of the rock-and-roll star. In 1980, she started a love affair with decathlete Bruce Jenner and they tied knots on January 5, 1981, in Hawaii. They welcomed their firstborn Brandon in 1981. In 1983, their younger son Brody drew his first breath. However, Linda and Bruce called it quits in 1986.
On June 22, 1991, Thompson got hitched to musician David Foster, who is famed for collaborating with Jennifer Lopez, Madonna and Christina Aguilera. In 2005, their marriage was dissolved.
A curious fact: while watching 1972 Olympics with Elvis, Linda joked that she would marry Bruce Jenner one day and the musician answered that their wedding would take place only over his dead body. As a result, at the moment of Linda and Bruce’s nuptials, Presley was already dead.
