Bio

Lynn Redgrave was such a versatile actress that it’s hard to count all the plays, movies and television projects she appeared in. Along with the spectators’ admiration, she earned two Golden Globes plus was a nominee for Oscar, Emmy and Tony Awards.

As Lynn drew her first breath in the famed Redgrave dynasty, she followed in her relatives’ footsteps and became the third generation performer. In 1962, she first acted on stage in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and proceeded with acting for the National Theatre. In 1967, Redgrave made a Broadway debut with Black Comedy. Since then, she has had parts in dozens of productions in both the UK and US.

In 1960, Lynn Redgrave made a movie debut in Shoot to Kill. However, she reached more fame thanks to her parts in Girl with Green Eyes, Georgy Girl, Midnight, The Happy Hooker, Shine plus Gods and Monsters. Simultaneously, she was a successful television star who played in House Calls, Teachers Only, Chicken Soup and Rude Awakening series.

On April 2, 1967, Lynn tied knots with her colleague John Clark. They parented son Benjamin, daughters Kelly and Annabel. In 2000, their marriage was dissolved after it was revealed that the man shared a kid with Nicolette Hannah, who was born in 1991. In 1994, Nicolette got hitched to the couple’s son Benjamin, but they got divorced in 1998. By the way, Lynn and John treated Hannah’s child as their grandson.

Being already an aged woman, Redgrave suffered from bulimia. In 2002, she discovered her breast cancer diagnosis and passed through a mastectomy and chemotherapy. However, on May 2, 2010, the celebrity passed away.

A curious fact: Lynn was also an author. One of her books is about her and her daughter’s experience with cancer.
