Mike Fisher wife
Mike Fisher is an ice hockey player who is also famed for being a husband of country music artist Carrie Underwood.
Showing great athletic skills since childhood, Mike started his professional career with Ottawa Senators in 1998 and helped the team to get to the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals. In 2011, he joined Nashville Predators. Though the athlete had many offers, he decided to play for Predators to be closer to his spouse. Fisher later served as a team captain and led it to the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals. In 2018, he retired from professional sport.
In 2012, Mike Fisher gained the NHL Foundation Player Award. Moreover, he represented Canada internationally and won silver medals at 2005 and 2009 World Championships.
Mike’s friend and Carrie’s bass guitarist Mark Childers wanted to organize a blind date for them, but the singer refused, having no desire to get romantically involved with someone who lived far away. However, they finally met in 2008 after one of the star’s concerts. The lovebirds talked on the phone for three months before they could organize the first date that happened on New Year’s Eve.
Fisher popped the question in December 2009 with a stunning round cut yellow diamond ring. They got hitched on July 10, 2010, at a Lake Oconee resort in Georgia and spent the honeymoon in Tahiti. In 2015, the spouses welcomed their firstborn, son Isaiah. And in 2019, another baby boy named Jacob became the newest addition to the family.
Mike and Carrie rarely appear in public together. However, the former athlete supported his wife at 2018 CMT Music Awards as well as at the ceremony of getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
A curious fact: Carrie is a vegan who tries not to wear leather clothes while Mike loves hunting. When the music star was a child, she swore that she would never marry a hunter. But, as we see, love makes people change their opinions for its sake.
