Dealing with TV production and music management, Narvel Blackstock is famed for cooperating with Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson. In 1988, Narvel launched Starstruck Entertainment, a company dealing with development and management of music artists.
Blackstock was a producer of many television projects, including Malibu Country series and Forever Love film starring Reba McEntire. He also directed Reba: Video Gold II and produced Kelly Clarkson’s Cautionary Christmas Music Tale.
In 1973, Narvel espoused Elisa Gayle Ritter with whom he shares daughters Chassidy and Shawna as well as son Brandon, who is a husband of renowned country artist Kelly Clarkson. In 1988, Blackstock and Ritter’s marriage was dissolved.
In early 1980s, Narvel Blackstock performed as a guitarist at Reba McEntire’s band and in late 1980s, he began to deal with her career management. The professional relationship soon turned into romantic one and led to the couple’s wedding on June 3, 1989, at a low-key ceremony on a boat in Lake Tahoe. In a year, they gave birth to son Shelby who became a race driver.
In 2015, the sad news broke the hearts of Reba and Narvel’s fans who considered their family to be ideal. The couple released a joint statement on Reba’s site announcing their separation and intention to get divorced. Their divorce was finalized in October. The country music star revealed that divorce wasn’t her idea and so, we can assume that it was Narvel who initiated the end of their family life.
An interesting fact: soon after his divorce, Blackstock got romantically involved with real estate agent Laura Putty Stroud. The woman turned out to be one of Reba’s closest friends.
