Nicole Richie, an adoptive daughter of music legend Lionel Richie, gained popularity in the early 2000s thanks to reality show The Simple Life, where she co-starred with socialite Paris Hilton.
In 2005, Richie tried her hand at acting in Kids in America movie. She later starred in Great News and Candidly Nicole television series. Additionally, Nicole served as a guest judge at Project Runway and participated in Fashion Star. In 2005, she made a writing debut after presenting book The Truth About Diamonds. In 2010, her another creation, Priceless, was published.
Today, Nicole Richie is obsessed with fashion design. In 2008, she established her jewelry brand House of Harlow 1960 which was later extended with clothes, sunglasses and other accessories. She also created women’s fashion line Winter Kate and released several fragrances.
Nicole started dating Joel Madden in 2006 after being introduced to each other by their mutual friends. She initially put him in the friend-zone but the rock musician managed to win her heart. In 2008 and 2009, they welcomed their kids, Harlow and Sparrow. Madden popped the question in February 2010 and on December 11, 2010, the couple tied knots at Lionel Richie’s house. By the way, Nicole walked down the aisle to her dad’s song Ballerina Girl.
Nicole and Joel are very supportive of each other and seem to be madly in love. They often share photos of each other on social media and write sweet messages under them. Nicole even accompanied Madden on his tours with the band. By the way, the spouses are very close with Joel’s brother Benji and his spouse Cameron Diaz.
A curious fact: in childhood, Nicole dreamed about becoming a figure skater. She trained 8 hours a day and even participated in some competitions.
