Bio

Margarita Ibrahimoff, who is more famed as Rita Wilson, is one of those talented representatives of the entertainment industry who demonstrate amazing skills in both acting and music. Her path to stardom started in 1972 when she gained her debut part in The Brady Bunch series. In 1977, Rita made a big screen debut in the movie The Day It Came to Earth.

Today, Wilson is famed for playing in a vast number of movies, comprising Volunteers, Mixed Nuts, Now and Then, Invisible Child, Runaway Bride, Auto Focus, Dawn Patrol plus Brother Nature. Among her most memorable television credits are The Good Wife and Girls series. In 2006, Rita made a Broadway debut in Chicago play and proceeded with having parts both on and off Broadway.

Wilson’s other passion is music. She released her debut album AM/FM in 2012 and it was followed by three more albums. Moreover, Rita Wilson deals with movies production. Thus, she took part in the creation of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Mamma Mia! and My Life in Ruins. Being fond of writing, she contributed articles for Harper’s Bazaar and The Huffington Post.

Tom Hanks first saw Rita in The Brady Bunch and had a crush on her. They got acquainted in 1981 while filming the Bosom Buddies TV series. In 1985, they reunited while starring in the Volunteers film and romantic feelings emerged between them soon afterwards. On April 30, 1988, Rita and Tom got hitched. In 1990, they welcomed their son Chester. And in 1995, their younger son Truman drew his first breath.

The spouses frequently work together as well as are both engaged in various charities. They are also very supportive of each other. For instance, Hanks credits Rita for his great performance in Forrest Gump.

A curious fact: Wilson is a breast cancer survivor. That even inspired her to write the song Throw Me a Party.
