Robert Herjavec is a successful entrepreneur and television personality. However, his life wasn’t always a piece of cake. Robert drew his first breath in former Yugoslavia in the family of Vladimir and Katica Herjavec. In 1970, they had to immigrate to Canada following Vladimir’s multiple arrests for communism criticism.
Herjavec tried various jobs in youth from delivering newspapers and waiting tables to being a production assistant for some films. In the 1980s, he was employed by Logiquest and climbed up the career ladder by becoming the company’s general manager. In 1990, Robert launched his first business, BRAK Systems. Having sold the company in 2000, he embarked on a post of Vice President of Sales at Ramp Network.
In 2003, Robert Herjavec established technology company Herjavec Group, which made him a multimillionaire. He took part in Canadian reality series Dragon’s Den and in 2009, he became an investor on ABC’s Shark Tank. Additionally, the businessman authored three books.
Apart from working, Herjavec adores races and participates in the Ferrari Challenge. Besides, he is an avid car collector who can boast of some rare models. His other hobbies include golf and scuba diving.
In 1990, Robert tied knots with Diane Plese. Despite parenting three children together, son Brendan and daughters Caprice and Skye, the spouses broke up in 2014 with their marriage being officially dissolved in 2016. The same year, Herjavec espoused choreographer Kym Johnson. And in 2018, they welcomed twins, son Hudson and daughter Haven.
A curious fact: when he earned his first big money, Robert wanted to pay off his parents’ mortgage, but his mother objected. Instead, the man bought a Cadillac for his dad.
