Zoe Saldana initially aspired to become a ballet dancer but later decided to try her hand at acting. In 1995, she became a member of the Faces theater group and in 1999, she first appeared on TV in an episode of Law & Order. And in a year, she made a big screen debut in Center Stage movie.
However, the worldwide recognition was reached by Zoe only in 2009 after she had parts in Star Trek and Avatar. Moreover, she is famed for playing in Guess Who, The Skeptic, The Losers, Colombiana, The Words, Guardians of the Galaxy, Nina plus Avengers. Saldana also starred in Rosemary’s Baby and served as a producer of this series.
Moreover, Zoe established Cinestar Pictures production company together with her sisters Cisely and Mariel. It dealt with production of The Honor List movie in 2018 as well as short film Quantum Is Calling in 2016.
Additionally, Saldana is a philanthropist. She supports FINCA International, a non-profit organization aspiring to alleviate poverty, and Brave Beginnings, which provides neonatal medical equipment for hospitals.
From 2000 to 2011, Zoe was in relationship with actor Keith Britton. They even established My Fashion Database site together and announced their engagement in 2010. However, their ways parted in 2011.
In spring 2013, Saldana got romantically involved with artist Marco Perego who espoused her in summer, just three months after their romance started. In 2014, their twin sons Bowie and Cy drew their first breath. And in 2017, the family expanded by another boy named Zen.
A funny fact: some people mistake Zoe for her colleague Thandie Newton, even her mother Asalia. The actress reveals that her mom still thinks that she plays in Westworld series.
